Brit Hume, when asked about Tiger Woods on Fox News, made a surprising statement.  Said Mr. Hume about Mr. Woods, “He’s said to be a Buddhist. I don’t think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So my message to Tiger would be, ‘Tiger, turn your faith—turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.'”

Now, personally, I don’t think this was offensive, I mean, if you don’t want the mans opinion, then don’t ask for it.  But almost immediately, people were calling Brit a religious fanatic, and started making fun of him.  Some people are upset because they don’t share the same beliefs as Mr. Hume, and others are upset at the way he expressed himself to Tiger.

We are all sinners, some of us, have found grace.  There are many, however, that have not.  Tiger is one of those people.  Its true, he DOES need to turn to Christianity, and he DOES need forgiveness.  But, maybe, a better approach would have been to privately talk to Tiger about his faith.  Making a public display of someone who is already being disgraced, may not have been the best approach!

I thank Brit Hume, as a fellow believer, for standing up for his faith.  I am glad that the truth of God’s forgiveness made it on the air.  I just would caution him not to get over zealous.  His zeal may be mistaken for something that Tiger wants no part of 🙂
